Hi Team,
For an IBP Template Pivot table issue, SAP has suggested to correct the Time profile description and upload the time profile to IBP system.
later should we activate the planning area or it is automated?
Thanks in advance,
saranya

Saranya,
Changing time profile is a touchy task, following cases may apply
1- you want extending periods in future or/and remove past ones. This is easy, you need to create the new periods with new periodIDs, and leave unchanged the periodID of periods you keep. The ones you delete will simply disappear if they are not in the uploaded and changed timeprofile. May have to run a purge job I think
2- You want to redefine the Start and End date of existing periods. Don't do you will lose all data for sure.
3- You simply want to change labels or period weight factors or any associated attributes of periods, just do. Think that your disag logic could be impacted by that and you may need to rebalance some disag from scratch
Anyway for case and 2 and 3 I would backup, or discuss with SAP as they perform backup checkpoint regularly.
And because SAP is SAP, make a mini test on a separate area just to be sure
Cheers, Daniel

Hi @saranya4,
as far as I remember, the planning area is immediatly active after uploading and activating the time profile. However you need to be careful not to change key fields or even change the numbering. Download the assigned time profile, "just" change the description like proposed by SAP and upload the whole file again.
Please read the following SAP documentation first:
