What are the steps to configure a material in ECC and APO as MTO?

The steps you take are: Configure the material in the MRP3 view

Create a Sales order

Run the heuristics in APO and generate the planned order When wanting to generate the Process order from the planned order, in the transaction / sapapo / rrp3 the system generates nothing.

in MD04 throws the error: You can not make an assignment to make-to-order stock Message no. CO684

Hi Brahmankar,

I am working with APO and ECC. From APO I generate the planned order and process order. For the MTS model it works perfect but when configuring the material as MTO from APO the Process Order is not generated. In ECC from the MD04 when wanting to generate the planned order the system issues the error message: You can not make an assignment to make-to-order stock Message no. CO684

I have configured only one material. In MM02 -> MRP3 -> Strategy group = 20 In MM02 -> Sales organization 2 -> Item category group = 001 Run Heuristic in APO, create Purchese order in production plant Run Heuristic in Production plant and create planned order. I can create process order in APO -> RRP3 I can create process order in MD04

Does it work with ECC? May be you can change the MRP type to PD and run MRP with MD50 and check it.

Or by using Transaction CO08, can you create a production order with reference to a sales order?

Hi R Brahmankar, The change was made in the material in MRP3. In APO the planned order is generated but the process order is not generated, the system does not issue an error message. In ECC in the Tcode: MD04 when wanting to convert the planned order the system throws the error: You can not make an assignment to make-to-order stock Message no. CO684.

Does this issue with particular material or all MTO materials?

What is planning strategy are you using and what is the requirement class in sales order?

In OKKP Controlling Area is active for Sale order under Activate components/control indicators

Also refer SAP consulting note 459734 - How does the order account assignment work?
