Hi. We are planning to migrate our on-premise systems to public cloud and as a part of migration we will do hostname rename and instance number change in target landscape. We have a NFS for trans in on-premise and created multiple NFS's in the target landscape (this is solution specific, like for GRC one file share and for ECC there will be a separate file share). Also in on-premise we have configured transport directory as /usr/sap/trans/<solution> (e.g. /usr/sap/trans/GRC for GRC systems) by maintaining DIR_TRANS profile parameter. And the domain controller for those solution is prod solution manager system. So we are planning to mount both individual file share (/usr/sap/trans/GRC) and solman's file share (/usr/sap/trans/SM) in GRC systems in target landscape. After migrating dev systems, QA and prod will be running in on-premise landscape and we will do initial copy of trans directory folder-wise specific to that solution.
So after migration of dev system, if we update the config from prod solman system (like hostname and instance no. under system overview > system > communication tab) of child system, will it directly update the configurations in child system running on target landscape (as we have updated the new hostname) or it will be updated in source system's trans directory and later we need to manually copy the bin folder from on-premise to target landscape for that particular solution?
Thanks
