Selection Profile in SAP TM Planning

Hello,

Just started learning SAP TM. In selection profile, we have pick up days and delivery days. If I select as pick up days = 5 and delivery days=2. what does it mean. How does FU are selected ?

Can someone take an example and explain ? For e.g If i have a sales order with delivery date = 7.6.2022, Material availability date= 4.6.22 and pick up date= 5.6.22. How this information from sales order is used to select FU ?

I have not seen an example anywhere . hence if someone can explain in detail ?

Hello,

First we will start with how pickup and delivery dates are updated in FU from SO.

Loading date is put as pickup date and delivery date is put as delivery date into FU from SO.

See below examples for date transfer from SO to FU

Now back to selection profile settings:

Today is 01-06-2022

I have put pickup as 4 days and delivery as 4 days.

It means system shall select all FU for which pickup date is from today till 04-06-2022, OR delivery date is from today till 04-06-2022. You can change the OR logic with AND in selection profile setting. I have marked above.

Simulation:

Now I changed the pickup window to 5 days. So system should look for FU having pickup window starting from 01-06-2022 till 05-6-2022

Now changed the logic to AND.

system shall now look for FU with pickup date from 01-06-2022 till 05-06-2022 AND

delivery date from 01-06-2022 till 04-06-2022.

Many many thanks Aslam......... These things are not explained anywhere. Neither in SAP Courses... So how to get these knowedge. Any websites which provides details like which you have provided. I have a long way to go !

I forgot to ask about Demand Horizon. Is the concepts you have explained means the same thing. If not, can you explain what it is in your example above.

Hello Aslam,

One more concept about Demand Horizon I forgot to ask. what it is and when one clicks on simulate demand, system shows, various dates like Anchor date, pick up dates etc. How these dates are determined and any link with Pick up/delivery date with Demand Horizon ?

I would be grateful, if you can take an example with screenshots too !.

Hello

with 'simulate demand horizon' you can actually see which FU system will selected with this selection profile.

System will simulate pick-up and delivery window based on the settings, so FU's falling under this time window will be selected.

Anchor date is : current system date and time .

You can set different days and see how differently it behaves.

what about Purchase orders. There is no loading date in PO. Hence there will be no pick up date in FU. How in case of PO, FU are selected ?
