Dear EWM experts,
I'm a beginner to SAP EWM/
I've a doubt. What's the difference between /SCWM/PI_DOC_CREATE and /SCWM/PI_CREATE.
When do we need to use /SCWM/PI_DOC_CREATE and when to use /SCWM/PI_CREATE?
Could you please throw some light on this?
Awaiting your response.
Thank you in adavnce

Hi,
Please read this link from SAP community: https://answers.sap.com/questions/12306442/difference-between-ewm-physical-inventory-transact.html
EDIT:
The differences you can see in screens below:
/n/SCWM/PI_DOC_CREATE:
1. In this transaction you can select: storage type, even storage section. You can select the Indicators:
- active PI document
- freeze book inventory etc..
And the most important thing - you can create one inventory document for whole storage type (with several postitions) and you can do this in the background - just by selection appropriate data in first screen and click F8.

The result will be:
The system will create one inventory document for eariler selected criteria and will do this in the background.

Please look at the next screen:
In the warehouse management monitor you see: there is a single inventory document with status ACTI for all of storage bins assigned to the storage type selected in t-code /n/SCWM/PI_DOC_CREATE:

And now please look at the screen from /n/SCWM/PI_CREATE:
As you see, you can not select other data than displayed in screen below. You have to create inventory document for every storage bin one by one... or by selection (from xxxx to yyyy). You can't create the inventory document for whole storage type. After the selection of appropriate data you have to click few times in order to activate the inventory document.

These are the differences and it depends on you which method you choose.
Best Regards,
Marek

Thank you Marek. It was useful. May I know why do we use either /SCWM/PI_DOC_CREATE or /SCWM/PI_CREATE ?
Hi
mukkesh - I edited the first answer. You can read it again.
