Hi,
What is the difference between scheduling and sequencing? Both seem to calculate dates. Is sequencing the same as optimization?
Thanks
HI,
Mainly scheduling is done according to time and resource capacity. However, sequence represents the sequence of the planned orders for a planning version and a line structure, in tabular form. It provides information on all detailed data, such as the start and end times or the characteristics evaluation.
Usually scheduling can be done in planning board ( /SAPAPO/CDPSB0), and sequencing is used to display, evaluate, and process the results of Model Mix Planning in ( /SAPAPO/SEQ1 )

Hello,
Sequencing :Is done to order of tasks in a chain
Scheduling is done When (at what time) a certain task happens.Decides on time.
Sequencing actually leads to optimization where you decide which order is to be taken first based on algorithm designed for the optimisation considering different constraint for cost and other parameters like capacity,Transportation lanes etc.
Once the sequenceing is done then based on scheduling parameters like finite scheduling or infinite schedule the orders are scheduled or executed based on time.
Hope this is clear.
