In strategy profile, it doesn't make sense to use schedule sequence (using either order priority or setup groups) along with current date as desired date..
If we plan on scheduling a set of orders in a particular sequence, then we have to use earliest date/forward scheduling.. is that right?
In other words, if my business requirement is to use current date as desired date, then scheduling the orders in a sequence using any kind of schedule sequence criteria doesn't work (or the results will be meaningless).. you agree?

Hello,
The Schedule Sequence Heuristic (SAP001) uses the earliest possible scheduling date during the scheduling process (in accordance with the specified sequence).
In the algorithm documentation, you may find the following:
"The earliest possible scheduling date for the operations is the latest
of the following dates:
o The current time plus or minus the offset time
o The start of the planning period"
The Current, Earliest and Specified date fields are relevant just for the scheduling and rescheduling functions.
I hope that it clarifies your queries.
Best regards
Yasmin
