Scenario where IBP S&OP is implemented after IBP Demand

Dear Experts

I am looking for a implementation scenario where IBP S&OP is implemented after IBP Demand. I have following questions:

1. Can the existing IBP Demand PA be used with some changes relevant to S&OP or, a seperate PA is needed?

2. Can Demand Planning Stat Forecast be used in S&OP? If so, where can I find the relevant documentation for MDT, KF, PLs integration

3. in CPIDS, can the same Data Stores be used for S4 & IBP?

I would appricaite a help on the above.

Hi rs.60089,

Technically speaking, I don't see a bigger implications or issues by adapting S&OP following the Demand.

1. Demand Planning Area is created with reference to SAPIBP1 or SAP3? In either of the case, you need to perform a merge with the sample planning area SAPIBP1 to get the complete alignment with recent objects.
2. But before executing merge, Proactively make sure to compare Sample Planning Area(SAPIBP1) and the current planning area(Z**) using 'Compare Planning Area' app. Here you need not worry about the extra objects, but you have to concentrate more on the difference. Differences are mainly due to the custom things added in the standard objects. So secure your customizations before merge.
3. Then execute the planning area merge and re-implement whatever available in Customizations.
4. There will be new objects added for Integration. Make sure to account them using the "Extra's at Sample Planning Area".
5. Authorizations is another use-case, you have to work with.. but sure not a difficult one.
6. Hopefully, You must be following the RDS which is the best practice stuff for IBP implementations. Hence you will be hardly missing anything.
7. Try to embrace the added features of S&OP to the clients as it open the space for limited Collaboration, Process Management, Supply Planning and so on.. Be attentive.

Thanks Sravan. We are using unified PA. I do not want to forecast in S&Op instead I want to bring in the forecast from demand planning (basically the Stat FC KF).

Is the existing planning area copy of Unified planning area or demand planning area..? If it is the copy of demand planning area we cannot use for S&OP.

2. Can Demand Planning Stat Forecast be used in S&OP? If so, where can I find the relevant documentation for MDT, KF, PLs integration

In IBP S&OP we cannot use all forecasting models which are available in IBP Demand Planning area.

3. in CPIDS, can the same Data Stores be used for S4 & IBP?

It is based on MDT & Transaction data used in S&OP & Demand Planning we can decide on the datastore to be used.
