SAP4 supply planning area

Hi All,

I have a basic question to understannd.why is the least time profile is months in SAP4 planning area?

Confusing with CONSENSUSDEMAND key figure is at week level in SAP6 pA and at month level in SAP4 PA.

can we copy from SAP6 to SAP4 pa from weeks to months?

You are live with SAP4 with Demand? I thought you use SAP6 for Demand?

If you need Supply Planning on weekly level, you can implement it based on copy of SAP4 and do a lot of adjustments, or you can go with selective copy of SAPPIBP1

You can exchange transactional data (e.g. constrained / unconstrained forecast) with any other planning area via cross-planning area-copy operator, and if you copy on higher aggregated levels then month you need to decide on how you do your disaggregation. Check the model configuration guide on details

You can NOT copy configuration between SAP6 and SAP4

No, you would need to enhance SAP4 with technical weeks, which is a lot of work as the planning levels would all need to be checked.

If you need weeks, you better use SAPIBP1.

During the copy of SAPIBP1 you can decide, which process you want to copy and even enhance later: Just the SOP, or as well Demand Planning, Demand Sensing, or IO. And you can decide to copy predefined analytics with it. AND you have detailed best practice description with SAPIBP1, but not with SAP4

Thanks for quick response. So only for Supply can we go with SAPIBP1 planning area? since SAP4(Demand) is already live.
