SAP Work Zone - List of advantages compared to external collaboration (+ Web Based vs. Add-In?)

Dear all,

Covering only newer IBP licenses here (not those that still work with SAP JAM), I believe Tasks and Process Management can still not be managed within IBP unless one has a subscription to Work Zone? Because we are unable to test these and other features of Work Zone, we would appreciate any thoughts and experience on the added value of getting a Work Zone license compared to collaboration using third-party tools.

SAP IBP documentation mentions that you can 'share objects'. When it comes to Planning Views, and/or Filters, scenarios, ... is this limited only to Web Based Planning; or can you equally share Planning Views that belong to the Excel Add-In? Can we automate the reception of an e-mail or message when sharing a scenario?

Does getting a license for Work Zone makes more sense in case one opts for the Web Based planning; compared to the Excel Add-In? And thus, does it make sense to opt either for Web Based (& Work Zone), or Add-In as main UI for the end-users (I believe for example the Planning Views of the Add-In are not automatically present in the Web Based planning, nor are the scenarios)? Thus related to this: even though with each update SAP improves the Web Based planning, what are some obvious ongoing limitations compared to the features present in the Excel Add-In?

Several accounts on the net are also given with regards to using the Web Based planning as suited for collaboration by using and sharing the URL that belongs to a Planning View in a browser, sometimes the browser tabs that can be integrated into MS Teams for example.

Any insights into added values of Work Zone on IBP, compared to third party tools for collaboration would be much appreciated + perhaps the underlying discussion of Web Based vs. Add-In if applicable?

Many thanks.
