Hi Community,
In our S/4HANA Public Cloud tenant we use Transportation Management.
When I create a Road Freight Order I only get one document type – SFO2 (Road Freight Order) – and it is hard-wired to Shipping Type 18 (FTL).
The Shipping Type field itself is read-only, and the usual SSCUI “Define Freight Order Types” (103983) does not exist in Public Cloud.
Questions
What is the supported way to make Shipping Type 17 (LTL) available?
Do we have to raise a Request Expert Configuration so SAP copies SFO2 and sets Shipping Type 17, or is there any self-service alternative?
Could condition-based FO-type determination switch between FTL and LTL at planning/tender time?
Any best-practice tips from projects that already solved this?
(See screenshot below – Shipping Type is locked on FTL.)
The ultimate situation I would like is if I can manually choose between FTL or LTL.
Thanks for any insights!
Best regards,
Floris

Hello @FlorisBoon
In S4 Public cloud, the shipping Type on a Freight Order (e.g., FTL/LTL) is system-controlled and read-only. For example, standard order type SFO2 is pre-assigned to Shipping Type 18 (FTL).
Currently, you cannot change the Shipping Type manually or adjust order types via self-service tools. If you need a Freight Order with LTL (Shipping Type 17), the supported approach is to raise an Expert Configuration Request with SAP.
Planning tools can influence load optimisation (FTL vs. LTL), but the Shipping Type at the order level remains fixed based on the configuration.
