SAP SOM with SD Billing

Hi All 

My client would like to use SAP SOM for subscription orders and contracts, however they do NOT want to use Convergent Mediation, Convergent Charging and Convergent Invoicing. 

The vision they have is to use a SOM to establish the contract for usage items, have a BTP app to  collect all the usage data, and based on this carry out Billing in S/4 SD.

I have read the material and the architecture refers to all the other products.  Creating a subscription order and contract, there will NOT be a contract account as there will be no FI-CA.  

If I try and use an example, they want a contract for a service and the customer will pay the flat rate for 5 of these services a month.  The BTP app will check usage for the month.  If the usage is less than 5, they will be billed for the service as per normal.  If the customer uses 7 of these services in the next month, they are to be billed for the base 5 and the additional 2 at a agreed rate.  

The BTP app will get and provide the usage data, however, how can this be billed in SD ?

Any direction on this type of a solution would be greatly apprciated. 

In public clould there is subscription billing and to me that is a great fit to this solution.  However in private cloud, they can only consider BRIM, but they only want to use SOM and not the rest of it.

The Add-on product SAP S/4HANA for Subscription Billing, Sales and Distribution Option 1.0 (SOLINVE 800) handles such business processes where the subscription contract lifecycle management is taken care in BRIM-SOM but the billing and invoicing is done in SD. This is typically for subscription processes with FI-AR scenarios. Below is the link of the landing page for the add-on. NOTE: You will still need a dummy contract account and a lean convergent invoicing. The CI billing document is transferred to SD invoicing using the add-on processes. Thanks.
