SAP S/4HANA 2022 - Segmented generic article and variants not supported in advanced planning

Hi All,

This is regarding activating PPDS for SAP S/4HANA 2022 for Generic and variant segmented articles (S/4 Hana for fashion and vertical business)

Getting below error when trying to activate advanced planning for generic or it’s variant article in material master Logistics DC tab using transaction MM42.

Segmented generic article and variants not supported in advanced planning.

Message No. SGT_01 144

I couldn't find this message as configurable to change the message type to information.

I tried note 2913920 - Maintenance of advanced planning information for materials with segmentation in transaction MM41, MM42. However, its not applicable for S4CORE release 107.

I have gone through the note 3163478- on implementation considerations on PPDS for SAP S/4HANA 2022 and found no information on this particular issue.

Appreciate your input and solutions on this issue.

I had raised an incident with SAP and got the confirmation that It is not possible to activate advance planning for the generic article and its variants. i.e. As per the current design the functionality is only applicable for single articles. This is explained in the note 3163478 as a restriction 'Generic Article is not supported in segmentation ePPDS integration. Only single article is supported for segmentation ePPDS integration.'
