IBP is a good SOP tool but not a best of breed for the forecasting tools. The pricing on IBP is also crazy (a % of revenue). Other solutions are better from a cost benefit point of view.
Standard SAP forecasting from R3 is moved into HANA with no expectations of updates and possibly being sunset. So decide on this at your own risk.
There is also a SAP consulting solution FMO that is decent, better than old forecast, not on par with IBP but very reasonable on a subscription based price per year and in support.
