SAP IBP Time Profile - Adding a new level

Hello Experts,

We have a time profile setup for active planning areas. Current levels are Day, Month, Quarter and Year. I would like to add a new Level in Time Profile. As current Time Profiles are active and used in Active Planning Areas, we need to do impact analysis before we go ahead with this change. Does anyone have a checklist handy for objects to check after doing changes in existing Time Profile of the Planning Area?

Thanks in advance.

Hello there,

As per Model Configuration Guide 1908,

If the time profile is already assigned to a planning area, you can’t add new time profile levels.

Thank you

Hi Satish,

Thanks for update. In that case, I will have to replace the Time Profile completely by new one.

If I replace the Time Profile then I will have to perform check as mentioned in section -

Replacing the Time Profile in a Planning Area.

Just wondering if there are any other checks or impact analysis I need to do before and after Time Profile change?

Regards,

Prasad

Hi Satish,

Will you please share documentation where it has mentioned the Time Profile level can not be added in if it has been assigned to Planning area? I couldn't find any and I checked in updated system. I can still add planning level in existing assigned Time Profile in 1908.

Regards,

Prasad

Hi Satish,

Thanks for your inputs. Yes, its true that we cant change levels of Time profile assigned to Planning Area. Hence, now we are testing impact of Time Profile change(not level) on Planning views.

Prasad
