Hi,
Wanted to understand the experience of the community in IBP Shelf Life Planning vs IBP Supply Optimization. As you may be aware the Shelf life planning area does not support optimization (and vice versa). What has the experience been? What are the pros and cons of one over the other (of course this depends on the industry)
Are there any thoughts about integrating the 2 PA?
Request clarification before answering.
There is no comparison as such. Shelf life is purely heuristic based solution which calculates wastage or risk qty. This qty can be integrated as input for supply optimizer. All pros and cons of unconstrained Vs constrained planning would apply.
Master data is separately integrated in 2 planning areas. For transaction data integration we can use DISAGG operator. If you are asking about combining both planning areas.... that's not possible as of now. This is because of additional dimension of shelf life ID in planning levels of shelf life pa.
