Hello All

what is S&OP planning and what is the difference between S&OP and demand planning. because S&OP also we are calculating the forecast, why we need to purchase separate license for demand. We can generate the forecast from S&OP and send it to supply planning.

Regards

Hi,

Sales and Operations Planning effectively balance demand and supply requirements. S&OP has limited statistical forecasting methods when compared with IBP Demand Planning and covers the overall planning process at a very high level.

Demand planning covers the following functionalities that is the reason for separate license cost.

  • Outlier Correction
  • Substitute Missing Values
  • Promotion Sales Lift Elimination

Advances Statistical Forecasting (Best Forecast Models)

  • Constant
  • Trend
  • Seasonal
  • Sporadic
  • Regression

Demand Sensing (short term planning in terms of days to weeks)

Integration with POS data

Product Life Cycle Planning

Promotional Planning
