Hi Experts,
What is the approximate duration for SAP IBP new implementation project. Do we have any project plan template for SAP IBP implementation. I did not find any in roadmap viewer. Appreciate your inputs, Thank you.
Request clarification before answering.
That question is a bit like "How does it take to implement S/4HANA?" and I can easily answer it takes between 2 months and 2 years - depending on the scope as we have so many processes and solutions we can build and use in IBP, and even more customer-specific situations.
But there is a Best Practice with predefined content which you may check out: SAP Best Practices Explorer for IBP
I am not sure if there is a sample project plan. But it gives you an idea about the variety

Thank you for your answer.
Currently, we are going to implement only SAP IBP. we have SAP ECC system live; we need to use this as source to SAP IBP. In that case if we have 2-3 modules, will it be 6 months - 8 months timeline for this implementation. Just interested to know ideal timeline in this scenario
Thank you, Madhu
Dear Madhu
I am still not able to answer that, and would not do without a lot of more information 🙂
"2-3 Modules" still is quiet a variety. There are differences whether you introduce Demand or DDR or Demand Sensing or Inventory or SOP or Order-based Planning, and whether you have your source data you need to integrate are proper or whether you need a clean-up first. And it is a big difference if you have a company that has 2000 locations worldwide with 100 market organizations, or a midsize company concentrating on their local market.
So even if we had customer that introduced SOP in 3 months, that does not mean that this would be the same for your company.
In 2016, I wrote a blog about the topic, which I never updated. But the essence is still valid. Maybe you get into contact with your SAP Services team or SAP Partners for more details, this FAQ provides some contacts.
Yours, Irmi
