Dear All,
Hope you had a great weekend!
I require clarification on SAP IBP Outlier Correction - i run the job at month & product level yet i found discrepancy with my understanding on SAP Help Portal vs Manual calculation. Trying to understand if i misunderstood any information.
Thanks for your guidance.
Image 1 - referring to Image 1: https://help.sap.com/docs/SAP_INTEGRATED_BUSINESS_PLANNING/feae3cea3cc549aaa9d9de7d363a83e6/9a458154... for outlier detection method - Interquartile Range Test.
Image 2 - I set up as below with Interquartile Range Test
Image 3 - Based on Image 1, i calculated below.
Image 4 - with the calculation, supposedly no outlier is detected. However, after running the job, there were data being identified as outlier for correction.
Request clarification before answering.
Hi Brienne,
the quartiles are computed by taking into account the whole historical horizon set up in the forecast model. You may want to check if your calculation is also done on the same time periods.
Best regards

Hi,
yes indeed it should use 12 months to compute the outliers. Looking at your data the corrections indeed do not seem to match the lower and upper boundary. The only other setting that would change the thresholds is the Adjustment to Seasonality and Trend with Tolerance, but this does not seem to be your setting. As the results do not match the expected values, please open an incident so that we might investigate this.
Best regards
Laura
