Hi Experts,
I'm currently facing huge runtimes (+12 hours) in an optimized solution (52 weeks in future for annual budgeting purposes)
Reviewing the new expert settings in Optimizer Parameters, I'm not quite clear which options would favor runtime and also ...Which Is the simplest way (parameters) of creating a simple feasible solution? Or should I just run the job till the end of time???
My scenario don't need any discrete variables (excluded in opt profile) which I already know impact in a great manner in performance.....any other?
Thanks!

Hi. In general, the new expert parameters for numeric focus and scaling should only be used when performance and/or numerical problems arise. Usually according messages in the business log can be seen in such cases.
Normally
these parameters should be kept to the automatic setting and only be changed in
case of performance issues and/or the product/development support recommends
different settings.
Preferably first the numerical issues should be reduced (e.g. by reducing the cost range / avoiding small and huge transportation or production amounts / avoiding not fulfillable adjusted or minimum values / ...).
Please note that these settings can also yield in a worse performance.
In your case (linear scenario, i.e. no discrete decision) the optimizer needs to run until the optimal solution is found. If the runtime limit is shorter no solution at all can be returned.
If the performance is better with enabled numeric focus or scaling feel free to keep these settings.
It would be very nice if you could provide us the scenario in that case via an incident to improve our automatic setting in the future.
Kind regards, Carsten
