SAP IBP - How to copy Production demand from a location to another location

Hello SAP Guru,

Considering our scenario network as below the optimizer wi

Product FG1 Independent Demand @ Loc A -> Production Demand SFG1 @ Loc A

Product FG2 Independent Demand @ Loc B -> Production Demand SFG1 @ Loc B

There is another Loc C which we need to push Production Demand SFG1 at both Loc A and Loc B - into Loc C's production demand.

So basically, Optimizer will generate production demand for SFG1 in each location. There is no production demand generated by Optimizer in Loc C as we don't maintain production source MD for Loc C.

We just need to make Production demand SFG1 @ Loc C = sum (Production demand SFG1 @ Loc A + Production demand SFG2 @ Loc B).

Does anyone have any ideas?

Hi,

Either you have to create transportation lane or setup cross-plant production to generate dependent demand directly at location C.

As per my understanding your scenario Loc-C should be Manufacturing Plant and received the dependent demand from SFG1 from Loc-A & Loc-B

If you want the production demand of SFG to be available at location C, then you need to maintain location source master data where location C will be LOCFR and location A & B will be LOCID for the SFG. Without this Tlane optimizer will never push the demand of the SFG from A and B to C.

If you mainatain the above then "Production demand SFG1 @ Loc C = sum (Production demand SFG1 @ Loc A + Production demand SFG2 @ Loc B)." will be happening correctly.

But as you said you dont have source of supply maintained at loc C for the SFG, then why do you need the production demand to be available at location C ?

Indeed we maintained location source the way as you mentioned, and the Optimizer generates Transport Receipts for Loc A & B, ship-from Loc C, but still no production demand there at Loc C.

The only thing is that we don't maintain production source header-item at Loc C.

So we need production demand to be available at Loc C for 2 purpose:.

1. It will be an input for Optimizer in its next run for SFG.
2. For reference purpose where planner can see how much total production demand from other locations that required supply from Loc C.

Is there any other possibility to achieve this?

The only way to acheive this using optimizer is to create production source header for SFG at location C. Without the Source ID the system wont generate depdendent production demand. you can mainatin dummy source header for SFG at LOCID C with source type as U and then you can see the dependent production demand in the external receipt KF..
