SAP IBP Heuristic run-time standard/baseline?

Good day

Is there a standard run-time for the heuristic that one can compare to identify if the system is taking too long? Currently, my heuristic is running for 2 minutes for on the production tenant for a client with 2.4 Billion Active Time Series Data and 400 000 planning objects.

Is this long, short or fine?

Hi,

It depends on multiple factors to calculate run-time for the heuristic planning run.

1. Number of planing objects
2. Time series records (Key figures)
3. System memory allocation

Again it depends on initial sizing of you IBP application.

I would say in every system planning run execute in the same manner. The overall performance can be improved through configuration of IBP model.

IBP heuristic run is faster compared to APO heuristic run. In your case 2.4 Billion Active Time Series Data and 400000 planning objects planning run time is fine.
