Hello,
I am trying to delete planning object for a Product Location combination. What is the best way to do that from background job.
From excel planning view we can do that but I need from background jobs.
Cheers,
Akhi

Hello Akhilesh,
You can either use the Purge Planning Area Data application job template to permanently delete data from multiple planning areas, including key figure data; or, you can use the Purge Key Figure Data to remove the KF data of the Planning Level PERPRODLOC. After doing this, you run the job again, but this time specifying that combinations of data (that is, planning objects) that don’t have any associated Key Figure data are deleted.
You may find additional information in our SAP Help Portal Data Lifecycle Management.

Hi Matheus,
Thanks for your kind help.
My exact requirement is using BACKGROUND Job specifically for a particular Product Location combination I need to delete planning object and not for all ProdLoc. For example just like the way from excel planning view you can go to option " Delete Planning Object" by loading Product Location in Planning view. Similar thing I need to do from Background.
As you have mentioned few options:
1> Using "Purge Planning Area Data application job template" : This works at planning area level so wont suffice my requirement of selective prodLoc Deletion.

2> "Purge Key Figure Data": This job is perfect for my requirement but the problem is in this job "Selection Filter" does not work and we are not able to select any filter here. Is there any way around for selective deletion of planning objects for specific Product Location.
Let me know in case you need further details.
Thanks in advance.
Akki
Hi Akki,
There's a bug with the "Selection Filter" of the Purge Key Figure Data operator. It was fixed in 1802 HFC06.
As a workaround, you can type the Planning Filter ID directly in the "Selection Filter" box. To get the ID, we can take it directly from the backend using the Planning Filter name.
In this case, please create an incident with SAP Product Support under component SCM-IBP-OPR-PKF and requesting to assign it to me. Please also provide the exact name of the required Planning Filter.
Best regards,
Matheus
Thanks Matheus!!!
Precisely this is what I was looking for...Will do as you have suggested.
Thanks again..
Matheus,
I got the Planning Filter ID without raising incident with SAP Product Support under component SCM-IBP-OPR-PKF.
The method I used was accessing planning filter from other jobs Delete Version Operator. Here you can also see the filter ID and Filter name and use the same ID in Purge Key Figure Data.
Thanks again for the insight.
Hi Akhilesh,
Great way to get the Filter ID! Thanks for sharing it.
Best regards,
Matheus
