Hello Team,

1.The core modules of SAP FSM are Planning & Dispatching & Mobile Field Services.

2. Using SAP MRS for Planning & Dispatching along with SAP Service & Asset Manger - Field Service Technician Persona we can still achieve both the requirements

My client needs to implement both Field Services for Customers & Company owned equipment's (Plant Maintenance). Which will be best option?

Below are queries

1. What is SAP future Roadmap for planning & scheduling & Mobile field services - SAP FSM or SAP MRS + SAP SAM?.. I read in some SAP blogs which says FSM is used by some client for maintenance orders & Service orders as well.

Thanks

Abhishek K

Hi Abhishek,

SAP Field Service Management has a roadmap for scheduling and mobile:

https://roadmaps.sap.com/board?range=CURRENT-LAST&PRODUCT=73554900100800002022#Q3%202022

SAP Service and Asset Manager mobile app has a roadmap:

https://roadmaps.sap.com/board?range=CURRENT-LAST&PRODUCT=73555000100800000639#Q4%202022

As you may intuit: there are 2 different mobile apps: the FSM mobile and Service and Asset Manager. Customers have a choice on which to deploy but there are some technical pre-conditions (which is why there are 2 apps) which relate to what is the back end work management system and whether you actually want to do scheduling.

Service and Asset Manager: mobile app can be deployed without scheduling, you must have an S/4 or ERP back end system and be using PM/CS work orders (ie if you have C4C tickets then this one is not for you).

FSM Mobile: requires you to schedule the work in FSM. The back end work management system can be anything.

Finally you ask about MRS, this product is still supported by SAP for existing customers and corrections will continue to be provided but there are no plans to further develop the capability.

I would urge you to reach out to your SAP representative so they can better understand your requirements and environment and guide you more specifically.

Regards

Simon
