SAP Field Service Management - Various dimensions of signatures in database

Hi guys,

our issue is that the SAP FSM stores the images of the Signatures in different dimensions according to the device on which they were created and also depending on the orientation of the device, when they are taken.

It is a problem for us because we are sending these images to the external web service, which is placing these images along with other information into the .pdf. However, it has trouble doing so, because of the various dimensions/proportions.

Is there anything we could do about it? Or is it a standard behavior, and we have to either create SAP influence request or try to find some kind of a workaround that would work for us?

Hi Tomas,

We checked the mentioned concern with SAP FSM Product Owners. They mentioned that there is no plan to change this behaviour. We want to move away from this signature as an attachment process. HTML reports embedded the signature directly in the report, but we do not make any changes to this signature process so that it can still be used.

I'm attaching the example screenshots, where you can see the signature pictures, sent from the SAP FSM to an external system, which is storing these images.

Thanks for sharing the information.

In provided description and screenshots it is still not clear what is the problem with third-party software (external web service) placing these images, that has various dimensions/proportions, along with other information into the .pdf.

this third-party software is resizing these images, so that they would fit, into the predefined space. However, it has trouble doing this from time to time, because of the various dimensions of these pictures. So it cuts off some of their parts.

Therefore our question is if we can affect this behaviour somehow (how the images of the signatures are stored in the SAP FSM database - so they will be stored for example in a certain ratio like 4:3, 16:9, etc.) or do we have to find some other solution for our issue?
