SAP EWM Stock Type and Availability Group

Dear SAP Folks

I would like to know 3 things on this topic:

1) How/Where is the mapping done in SAP for Non-location dependent stock types (FF/BB/QQ/RR) to the Stock type in ERP/S4H (Unrestricted/Blocked/Quality/Returns)?

2) How does SAP EWM determines the initial stock type as F1 for unrestricted inbound material, when we do not even specify the availability group 001 in the GR storage?9010-interim-goods-receipt-storage-type.png

3) Where/How can we see mapping of Scrapping Stock/Customs Blocked Stockewm-stock-type-and-availability-group.png

Thank you in advance!

Kind Regards

Yogesh.

Hi,

"1) How/Where is the mapping done in SAP for Non-location dependent stock types (FF/BB/QQ/RR) to the Stock type in ERP/S4H (Unrestricted/Blocked/Quality/Returns)?"

That is hardwired. As Daniil wrote, there is no mapping table (at least not to maintain).

"2) How does SAP EWM determines the initial stock type as F1 for unrestricted inbound material, when we do not even specify the availability group 001 in the GR storage?9010-interim-goods-receipt-storage-type.png"

You get an inbound delivery. In there you have a plant and a storage location. With this the system determines the availability group (if the mapping is made), with the non-location dependent stock type + the availability group the system finds the stock type. The setting for the storage type is only for the ROD/AFS scenario. Which you don't need to do.

It can be used as well for production staging with crate parts and a separate storage location.

"3) Where/How can we see mapping of Scrapping Stock/Customs Blocked Stock"

This is also wired to other things. Customs, as Daniil explained, comes from GTS. Scrapping is something which comes from Spare Parts Management, used to be something done with QM as well.

All the above is no official SAP statement.

Want to learn EWM?

Check for EWM courses: https://training.sap.com/trainingpath/Applications-Extended+Warehouse+Management-EWM+in+S4HANA

Get a SAP Learning Hub Subscription: https://training.sap.com/learninghub

And it is EWM. NOT eWM - Duh!

And if your question includes the word "transfer order" - do NOT tag the question with Extended Warehouse Management!

Thank you Juergen, for the explanation around point 2.

Yes the system was able to determine the EWM stock type from the mapping of Plant/Sloc with availability group in Customizing node.

Best Regards, Thanks Again!

1. In the code, so there are no mapping table

2. In the warehouse process type / GR bin storage type ( availability group, you can check F1 help for this field in the warehouse process type, I guess it is described there )

3. In the code, not sure regarding scrapping, but for customs block it is based on the reference document and customizing for GTS document types. I can check later if I found something similar regarding scrapping.

Thank you, Daniil!

2. Yes, from Help - I read and understood that the system will use warehouse number + Location-Dependent Stock Type + Availability Group = EWM Stock Type.help-info.png

But, even if the Availability Group in GR Storage type is not maintained as 001, it still takes the EWM Stock Type F1.

Alternatively, if we do not maintain the availability group in Final Storage type to 002, the system would not switch the EWM stock type to F2.

I really hope I am able to elaborate on my query.

Thank you Again!
