SAP EWM Stock management - Difference between GUID_STOCK and GUID_STOCK0

Hello all,

in some cases SAP will increase the stock counter (tech. STOCK_CNT) from the value 000000 to 000001, 000002, ... In that case the GUID_STOCK and the GUID_STOCK0 of the physical stock getting different. In case of having stock counter 000000, GUID_STOCK and GUID_STOCK are identically.

On the other hand the available quanties are all maintained with the GUID_STOCK0.

My question is, in which situation does SAP change the stock counter to a value 000001 or higher?

Thank you very much!

Best regards,

Dominik

Hi Dominik,

New guide be generated when EWM need to create quant with different soft attributes. For example it is two different delivery references. If you would have same guid you wont be able to pack two quants together, since guid_parent and guide_stock are the key in /scwm/quant table (with same guid they would be merged)

Hi Daniil, thank you very much for that info! So in addition to the delivery reference this is the same in case of anonymous stocks (stock w/o delivery reference) but may with different quality inspection references right?

Hi Dominik, yes, basically when you see one item in Avaiable stock, but several items in Physical stock ( for the same HU or Bin for unpacked stock ) it should be different stock guids. Why do you need this? is it some inconsistency in the system?

Hi Daniil, I am very interessted in the technical structure of EWM. Thats the major reason. I don't have a inconsistency I just wanted to know the behaviour of the system in general. Thank you very much for the explanations!
