Good morning,
I have a few questions about functionalities in SAP EWM that i could not find online... I really hope that someone can help me out here.
In the warehouse that I work we have a orderpick department which I would like to analyse. Therefore I would like to analyze some things. I would like to know where to find the sequence of the bin-locations for optimizing the routing of the orderpicker.
Also would like to know if this routing is fixed and if it can be changed through slotting?
Thank you in advantage!
Gr Mark

Hi Mark, slotting changes putaway strategy (or move products in case of rearrangement
https://help.sap.com/saphelp_scm50/helpdata/en/55/953d417c94f523e10000000a155106/frameset.htm ), so it is more about goods receipt, but for picking.
Routing itself has is in the warehouse order (you have 1:N relation between Warehouse Order and tasks). See here, for example: https://help.sap.com/doc/saphelp_ewm94/9.4/en-US/48/890776d2b21b5ae10000000a42189c/frameset.htm
By default it is pathseq field in /scwm/ordim_o (in your case /scwm/ordim_l for confirmed task). And it is coming from storage bins sorting ( /scwm/lagps-srt_nr ).
So, theoretically, to reduce picking path:
But it really depends on the processes and settings in the system. In general to analyse you can take confirmed warehouse tasks from table /scwm/ordim_c or from transaction /scwm/mon.
You can filter tasks by source, and by activities. And you can check in which sequence tasks were confirmed by every resource, this is how you can get actual sequence.

Daniil

Hi,
This is basically done through the Storage Bin sorting that you define either from customizing or master data upload.
Then, the picking path optimization is done by using the sorting criteria PATHSEQ in your Warehouse Order Creation Rule.
Up to recently, this was not visible easily in the Warehouse Monitor.
This has been improved recently by note 2836992.
