Hi.
I've a requirement to move material (scrapped) from EWM managed storage location to MM based storage location using /SCWM/ADGI transaction.
My question is what should be the movement type in this case?
Request clarification before answering.
Hello,
The standard SAP movement type in ECC for transfer posting of 'unrestricted stock' from one storage location to another storage location within a plant is "311". If you're transferring 'Unrestricted-Use Warehouse (stock type: F2)' from an EWM managed storage location to an IM-managed storage location within a plant, then the goods movement will be be 411. In other words, if EWM is linked to SAP ERP, the goods issue is posted with movement type 411 (in case of normal unrestricted-used stock).
The standard movement type to transfer from 'Blocked stock' from one storage location to another storage location is 325. If you use /SCWM/ADGI transaction to transfer 'Blocked Warehouse stock (stock type B6) from one location to another location, the goods issue is posted with the same movement type 325.
For scrapping i.e., post unplanned Goods Issue (GI Process = 'SCRP') via /SCWM/ADGI transaction for Blocked warehouse stock (stock type: B6) or unrestricted use stock (stock type F2), system will always use standard movement type 551 for scrapping.
Hope this helps. 🙂

Of course, everything is possible 🙂 but may I know what's wrong/missing in standard movement type and why do you want to setup a 'custom' movement type. Please double check your requirement and explain/justify the need for 'custom' movement type...
Here is one example/business case where we had setup an additional custom movement type '901' similar to standard Goods Receipt movement type 101 in our ECC environment:
- Business wanted a report to differentiate 'Domestic Goods Receipts" from "International Goods Receipts". Since SAP has provided only one movement type 101 for Goods Receipts, we have setup an additional custom movement type 901 similar to 101 and told receiving associates to MANUALLY choose 101 or 901 movement type in MIGO screen depending on whether they're posting GR for domestic vs international Purchase orders.

Thanks for your response :).
Yes we have a concrete requirement as we would need to differentiate the movements and also we need to trigger a second movement, that would only be possible to adding a reason code in current movement type. So i am not sure if I need to create a new Z movement type or should I include a reason code in standard movement type so that it would be easir to differenciate later.
Dear L.Katta,
Good day!
Thank you for above. Please help to share more details on configuration path for below.
