SAP EWM - Cannot pick partials

Good day all,

A bit unfamiliar with the WM setup. Have been tasked with assisting.

Currently warehouse staff when picking a single item (drum) from a storage location that contains four drums as a HU are required to return HU to the location before another drum can be picked for other deliveries. None of this is making any sense from my past limited experience in a WM environment. What could be preventing picking a single unit from the storage location without performing a put away? The example would be picking a single drum from a HU consisting of four drums.

Hello Juergen,

Don't have all my access to the needed information just yet as I am waiting to be granted access to the picking and putaway strategies. This is what the warehouse staff explained.

When picking a single drum from a storage location the remaining drums must be put away into that storage location before another user can pick from the remaining drums.

Will try and provide any additional information needed as this is causing additional pick time.

Can you describe more detailed what is happening at your warehouse? At least for me it is not clear what the user is required to do and what does not work as expected (and judging from that no one has answered, I guess also not to others).
