SAP EWM - Alternative identification for HU

Dear All,

I have a business requirement to enter career tracking number during packing. I am using Alternative identification (HU identification field) which is there in details 2 tab of HU. While I am entering the external number, it prompts me error "Identification Type is not defined". But I see few identification type already defined under node SPRO - EWM - Cross process settings - Handling Units - External Identification - Define identification type. I see identification type A, C, E, F already defined.

Please let me know how to get rid of this error.

Alternatively please let me know if there is any other standard field in which I can input a external number(without a development) and it should preferably flow back to freight order (the second part is not a mandatory requirement).

Hi Abhijit,

So you have several identification types defined: A, C, E and F. Is the user selecting one of them and still getting the error?
