Hello,
my customer wants to have a different kind of overview for products that are reserved for production without creating an extra storage location in erp.
I have created another unrestricted stock type named PP. I have added the stock type exactly like the standard stock types (F1, B1 etc.), with the same availabillity groups. The only difference is the unrestricted stock type "pp".
When changing the stock type I get the error message EWM data not supported for ERP communication:Non-Dep. Stock Type
SAP help mentions "the SAP ERP system only recognizes the stock types FF,QQ,RR,BB. You can define other location-independent stock types in EWM, if you do not need to communicate them to the ERP system". Thats what I want to archieve. Or is that not possible because we use an embedded system?
Thanks a lot for your help!

Hi Jan, you can use it, but for "local" stocks which are not communicated with ERP. So you cannot post stock from FF to PP if FF corresponds to some ERP stock, because EWM should send a message to ERP and this is a posting change, which EWM cannot map, because destination cannot be determined

Hi Daniil,
thanks for the reply! So basically I can never change the stock from FF to PP except I create a different kind of location storage in erp? My scenario with just adding the letter and using the same numbers as for the FF stock types won't work then right? Because the customer will change the stock type back to F1 at some point.
You can have multiple stock type at the same storage. For example if you remove availability group at storage type level, you are allowed to have multiple stock type like F1,P5,.
In this case, it has other consequences. ERP storage location and combination with availability group leads stock type determination during inbound delivery creation
During Pick, you may need to use stock type determination group to allow system to pick different stock types.

You can have custom stock type in EWM and assigning to particular storage types are possible, but it can't replicated in ECC, means it has to link with standard stock type in ECC. If i understand correctly, you want to have list of stock reserved for production at ECC, right? you can easily get it from RESB table or transaction MB25 in ECC. I am not sure why you are trying this at EWM or may be you can explain bit more about your requirement

Hi,
I need to do the reservation via stock type because there is no reservation in the system yet. The reservation is done manually by a warehouse worker where he just chooses which stock should be user for production next. And because they are laying in the same storage type there is no way to combine the stock type with the storage type as it would change the stock type of all the stock. Inlcuding the stock that shouldn't be used for production.
As example we have warehouse type 0001 and there are three quants. One of them is manually "reserved" for production. The monitor should look like this: F1, P1, F1.
But as far as I understand from the othrt answers as well, is that if the lay in the same storage type it is not possible to do it except I customice the 5th storage location in erp so it looks like this: F1, P5, F1.
Only if the stock would lay in a seperate storage type I could work with an ewm exclusive stock type.
