SAP APO Roadmap options to S/4 HANA and prerequisites

We are on ECC6 EHP7 and our APO is running SCM 7 with EHP 2 . We would be on S/4 HANA 1909 soon. What are the options for our APO and correcponding prerequisites.

Thanks Ayan. Appreciate your quick response. Client is interested response to his specific question meaning, "Where he should look for the prerequisites of EHP release # for SCM 7.0, in the event he has to migrate to S/4 HANA 1909 and above?". URL would be helpful. In the last one day, I could get some inputs like: Note # 1768043 says min EHP version is EHP3, but EHP 2 can be used with restrictions.[https://archive.sap.com/documents/docs/DOC-59899]. However I am yet to get the precise answer.

ECC modules like FI CO, OTC, P2P, MM and PP all have their corresponding couterpart in S4 HANA which are more rich in features and flexibility. If you are using PPDS in APO today then you need to keep in mind that PPDS as a functionality will be available in HANA as ePPDS or APS which is really good in terms of features are functionalites and it has absolutely good and tight integration with MRP in PP. I love that part most in S4 HANA.

Now coming to DP. This module will move to SAP IBP where in you will have IBP for Demand, IBP for supply as modules which also works together as IBP S&OP. This module in IBP is the best of all the avialavble modules in IBP and this is being adopted ata very fast pace in CPG, FMCG, Retail and other industries as well.

Now coming to SNP, that is where things are tricky at present. SNP is a excellent module which is widely used today in almost all leading org. As of now IBP has a module called Response and Supply aka OBP (Order Based Planning). This module till date has certain limitations when I compare it with APO SNP today. But SAP has upgraded the module very nicely over last 1 year and continue to focus in this as well. But still functionalities like TLB is missing and other features like CTM and deployment, although they exists in OBP today but it still have a long way to catch up. Even SAP will bring a new solution called PPO in HANA which is nothing but a rebranding to APO along with some enhanced functionalites. Now how that will work is something only time can tell.

Lastly GATP in APO is replaced by AATP in HANA. I havent used AATP so I am not in a postion to comment.

Overall my suggestion will be to initially focus on the S4 HANA transformation so that your execution modules are migrated from ECC to HANA, then focus on the planning and determination related modules.
