Hi,
In SAP APO PP/DS I try use alternative units of measure on мaterial in /sapapo/mat1. Base units of measure is ton. Alternative units of measure is kilogram. 1 ton= 1000 кг. In structure production data indicated alternative units, but when create new demand then component planing on Base units of measure (ton). If demand constitute 0,1kg then when rounding component count is zero (0,000 ton).
Question: This functional (Alternative units of measure) applicable in this case in SAP APO or not?
Or this is relevant only for fixed lots?
Thank you.

Hello,
This functionality of alternative units of measure is applicable in SAP APO too.
In general, it's strongly recommend that the Basic Unit of Measure should be the smallest of all the Unit of Measure a material may have.
And you have Base units of measure is ton which is not the smallest unit of measure and due to that system unbale to handel the calculation of 0,000 ton

Hello,
All units of measure other than the base unit of measure are referred to as alternative units of measure.
Alternate unit of measure conversion is maintained with respect to base unit of measure however ton to Kg is standard ISO conversion which can be used without conversion factor.
Mainly the other UoMs with a fix conversion are designed to be used as alternative like Each = how many Meter? or 1 Roll = How many meters something like that.

As you say: "ton to Kg is standard ISO conversion which can be used without conversion factor". How does it happen?
For examples: If i have Basic Unit of Measure ton, but in structure production data indicated alternative units of measures for production component- KG. System conversion in to kg automatically?
I don`t understand how system conversion units of measures in APO.
Hello,
It work in same way as other SAP system like ECC. Better you should try to test it in ECC system with same example like 0,1kg then when rounding component count is zero (0,000 ton) if it works.
And if UoM is base unit in TON without any alternative UoM an then you can try to change it to KG in component of your order in ECC then try same in APO.
For more details please refer useful SAP help document on it.
