Can S4 PPDS co-exist along with APO PPDS ? if the embedded PPDS is activated in S4 system, technically is it possible to push a order from APO PPDS into S4 system ?

Hi Valavan,
Your understanding is correct,
1. It means that say for example if you have a plant and a set of materials under that plant is being planned by APO PP/DS then it should be independently planned there. It should not be like those product location combinations are having any kind of dependency of data with the ones planned in S4 PP/DS.
2. Yes that is correct.
Hope this helps.

Hi Sasi
Thanks for the details. i have couple of querries
As per note
1. "Standalone SCM-APO" and PP/DS for SAP S/4HANA can be used together, but the data modelling should ensure that there is no data dependency - Does this mean, a planning relevent master data should not be shared across S4 PPDS and APO PPDS ? Or in simpler terms, if we activate Advanced Planning Flag in S4 ( material or work center etc..) then you can only plan this within S4 and not in APO ? Can you help understand the dependency in detail ?
2. Integration of orders generated out of "Standalone SCM-APO" to PP/DS for SAP S/4HANA or vice versa is not supported - Does this mean an planned order created from S4 PPDS cannot be integrated to APO PPDS ?

Hi Valavan,
Yes this is technically possible. For details could you please check oss note "2666947 - Restrictions and Implementation Recommendations for Production Planning and Detailed Scheduling for SAP S/4HANA 1809". As part of this note there is a section "Usage of “Side-by-Side SCM-APO” as a part of S/4HANA" this gives you a high-level details. It also refers to a oss note 2376061 which talks about the relevant APO versions which are supported.
I hope this helps.

Sasi
