Hi all,

We require to use the Intracompany STO process in S4 HANA Private Cloud, our understanding we can perform the corresponding configurations and carry on the Intracompany STO process, our question raises related using CAL instance (Cloud Appliance Library) ready to run and preconfigured for Intracompany STO process.

What are the differences between Intracompany STO process with corresponding standard configuration and using CAL STO process instance into S4 Hana Private Cloud for Intracompany?

Can we use for our target system (production system) the Intracompany STO process with corresponding standard configuration or it is mandatory to use CAL instance for Intracompany STO process?

Thanks for your comments

Hello, it is Jose Marquez again. CAL instances are SAP S/4HANA systems that can be used for self-education or to run workshops. They can generally be enabled for a limited time (30 days). Although the system is free, you have to pay for the hosting to your hyperscaler. However, the system is not intended to be part of your productive landscape. For more information follow the links documented in SAP Activate task: Access a Trial Solution.

If, after you test the system, you consider the process provided by the Enterprise Management Layer template works for your company, you can replicate the configuration in our own environment. But that will be a manual process. The other option is to buy the service  Enterprise Management Layer. However, this will be a system copy; therefore, it can only be part of the initial provisioning, and it is not an option if the system is already in use.

Regards,

Jose M.
