S/4HANA EWM - Warehouse Order Creation Rules - How limits with maximum weight would work with WOCR ?

Hello Experts,

I have a confusion about how the limits & filters (Mainly about the limits for now) would influence the warehouse order split by the WOCR. For example, I have 2 limits set with maximum weight, 1 with 250 KG & 1 with 500 KG as in below.

Scenario 1: Assigned the limit X500 in my WOCR as in below. è OK

And, packing material has allowed packing weight maintained as 250 KG.

And, simulated the wave – All looks good as in below as my WOCR TEST is determined and Pick-HU, WT & WO split works fine as expected.

Scenario 2: Assigned the limit X250 in my WOCR as in below. è NOK

And, packing material has allowed packing weight maintained as 250 KG. Also, tried by making allowed packing material weight 500 KG and blank as well. But, wave simulation result is same as below.

And, simulated the wave – WOCR UNDE is determined and nothing works as expected.

What is the specific set-up I’m missing for above scenario 2 and why system is behaving differently between both of these scenarios ?

Hi,

as pavan-fc wrote, you need to check the WO log in order to figure out where the issue comes from. What you showed in your answer is only the WT log. You need to check if the WO log is active at all - and if that works in the wave release simulation at all (I am not sure, never tested that).

But even the wave releases you displayed in your question are different. In the first example the maximum weight will have caused only one split. Because for the 5 simulated WOs you have 4 different activity areas. So only the two WOs coming from OH01 can be affected.

In the second try to you also only get less warehouse tasks. Means that the pack spec for the pick HU was not used, as the wave simulation result also shows. You need to find out why this is (again, for this you need the WO log).

All the above is no official SAP statement.

Want to learn EWM?

Check for EWM courses: https://training.sap.com/trainingpath/Applications-Extended+Warehouse+Management-EWM+in+S4HANA

Get a SAP Learning Hub Subscription: https://training.sap.com/learninghub

And it is EWM. NOT eWM - Duh!

And if your question includes the word "transfer order" - do NOT tag the question with Extended Warehouse Management!

Hi -WO log is not available at wave simulation. That is only available once WO is created.

However, it is not an issue indeed. After several tests made, I found that it works as designed by SAP.

When weight of item is <= Weight set in the limit, that works fine. But when weight of item exceeds the weight set in the limit of our WOCR, it doesn’t work and goes to UNDE.

Ah, yes, of course. In that instance that WOCR can not be used. Thanks for the feedback.

Did you check the WO log? What does it say?

WO Log has nothing about WO split. It remains same for both the above scenarios - SLG1 also has same.
