S/4HANA Embedded EWM connected to SAP ECC.

Good afternoon,

I'm working on a case where I have to implement EWM on a S/4HANA system. So this would be an embedded EWM system. However, an external SAP ECC system also needs to be connected to this system. As I know embedded EWM does have some differences with standalone EWM, like ciffing materials and such, I need to do this in another way. Preferred way to send over master data as materials, vendors and so on will be with IDocs.

Know I am able to get the connection up and running and did connect SAP ECC to the S/4HANA embedded EWM but I am not sure if this method is the right solution or if this will be sustainable for the future. Please, help me out.

I heard rumors Standalone SAP SCM EWM 9.5 will be the last release of EWM. Will there be a standalone SAP S/4HANA SCM EWM (on premise) release soon?

As for my solution for the SAP ECC connection to S/4HANA. I created a dummy plant within the embedded EWM client in order to deal with the party entitled to dispose. As a second step I created both entries for the SAP ECC logical system and SAP S/4HANA embedded EWM logical system for a storage location within the IMG: Map Storage Location from ERP System to EWM (see screenshot).

Third question, is it possible to get batches from embedded EWM to SAP ECC through CIF?
