RIMODDEL batch job getting canceled

Hello Experts,

We have a global batch job <RIMODDEL> for deleting inactive Integration models daily (1run/day). It is getting failed with a log "This model is currently being processed by user JOBRUN". As per initial analysis, a CIF job <RIMODGEN / RIMODAC2> runs at around same time so we have moved the timing, then RIMODDEL runs fine but whenever that CIF job overlaps (due to long runtime), RIMODDEL job fails with same error (as the duration is 0 sec so unable to takeTrace). I am not sure if that CIF job is causing the issue or not.
But the Variant of RIMODDEL job have dynamic created on date say LT 01.07.2020. So ideally it should pick Inactive IMs created in the past.

Please note: we have a lots of CIF batch jobs <RIMODGEN / RIMODAC2> running frequently.

Why do have have a separate job for RIMODDEL?

It should be a last step in same CIF job RIMODGEN / RIMODAC2

We have same step to delete all inactive IM older than 2 days as last step in CIF job.
