RFID Integration with SAP EWM

Hi experts,

I wish to integrate an RFID system with EWM. The system is fully configured (all processes from inbound to outbound) to work with a barcode scanner, I need to do the same with RFID tags.

As per my understanding, integrating RFID with SAP EWM requires SAP Auto-ID to also be installed. Is this true, or can it be done without AII?

Any guidance/ direction is appreciated. I have only about a month of exposure in SAP, so the more explicit you are, the greater it is of help to me.
