RESB Missing Part Indicator removed when order queue processed in S/4 PPDS

Hi All,

We have situation here related to data sync using S/4 HANA 1610 PP and S/4 HANA PPDS.

Currently, we are using classical MRP is one of the Plant assume “P001”

  • After MRP we immediate running Material Availability using MDVP with reset the ATP check setting
  • In the next steps, we are doing Material Availability check using COHV for Production Order that gives the missing part the indicator in RESB Table
  • Once the Production Order Material Availability check is finished, we check availability of Planned Order again using MDVP this time without reset indicator and it give the missing part indicator for Planned Orders in RESB table.

During this process, data is getting sync in S/4 PPDS using RFC connection CIF queues.

Problem Statement:

What we found here is when the information sends first to PPDS this “Missing Part Indicator” of RESB remained OK (X), once the information sends back to S/4 ECC (using name only) it removed the Missing Part indicator in RESB Table, and this is because of lead time scheduling settings.

Here is the possible setting I found -

  • MRP is running with Lead Time Schedule (This I feel can control with MRP scheduling Parameter 1 Basis Dates)
  • Other settings are lead time scheduling configuration Transaction OPU5 having Detailed Scheduling values are Scheduling Active, Generate Capacity Requirement Active for all Order (I am not sure about this setting and impact if I marked this as inactive).

Questions to all-

  • 1. Are there other settings/configurations I need to change to move from Lead time scheduling to Basis start date scheduling using classical MRP?
  • 2. How do I keep this Missing Part Indicator in RESB of material using integrated PPDS solution? (PPDS do auto-scheduling when it came first to PPDS and later it moved data to PP (RESB) with revised date)

Also, share your feedback if any of you faced the same situation and solution. Thanks in advance.

Regards,

Mayur K
