Request for Adjustment of Movement Type for Goods Receipt

I want to use transaction VL31N to record a stock entry using movement type 501 instead of the standard 101, without going through MIGO or referencing any document.

I believe, VL31 will consider 501 movement type.  Check and update here

I want to create an inbound delivery without reference

The movement type is always 101, and I don’t have authorization to modify it as the field is grayed out.

I do not think you can create inbound delivery using VL31N or VL10B without PO--However -- you may need to create new inbound delivery like ZEL--Then using Item category ELP which already configured 501 movement type -- but you have use VL01NO and supply Sales org data -shipping point etc and setup some master data or more additional config--not sure - i have not done it myself but you can try if this work out for you.

You also have to allow Ship to Party for Partner determination procedure EL in order to enter ship to party--which can equal to plant code --

Not possible via VL31N and that too, without referencing any preceding document.  Educate the users to go with standard SAP functionality.

So, only MIGO is available as standard. If I want to use VL31N with movement type 501, I need to go for a custom development ?

Did you try via MIGO where also, without P/O reference, system will allow to post with 501 movement type.  For this to happen, select "Goods Receipt" and "Other"

Yes, I did it with MIGO, but now the requirement is to do it with VL31N
