I currently have a key figure that is stored. I have determined that I can change this to a calculated field - which should reduce the amount of space being used on the cloud.
My question, if the KF is just changed from stored to calculated, is the data that was previously stored removed? Or do I need to run a job to clear out the data?

Hi Susan,
To my understanding, I dont think you need an external action on the data when you change the keyfigure setup from Stored to Calculated. You can proceed in the lower environment and see whether data still exists at Planning Object level. If nothing there, then move the changes to the Production.

Thank you. Where do I see if it still exists at the Planning Object level? In the Planning Object Statistics you can just see counts by Planning Level, no? Do I just have to see if the planning level count drops?
Update: I had made this change last week (from stored to calculated) and see no change this week in the number of planning objects at the planning level the KF exists in.
Hi Susan,
Dont worry about the planning object count. Planning Object count would be unchanged coz there are other keyfigures at the planning level using the same planning object.
To review whether the keyfigure data exist at planning level, open master data workbook, instead of Master Data Type select the Planning Object and load the appropriate planning level.
To my understanding, the moment you change a keyfigure from Stored to Calculated, the stored data would be dropped and numbers exist in the planning view would the result of the calculation.

Hi Susan,
The Planning Area reactivation process should automatically delete the previously stored key figure data accordingly. You could also run a Purge Key Figure data job at the Base Planning level of the Key figure in SIMULATION mode before doing the change and after doing the change just to compare if the number of values that would be purged would be the same.
Best,
Ivan

Hi Susan,
Try using purge operator.
Another option could be to use master data workbook. However since you have changed key figure to calculated, it won't be accessible.
If purge operator do not help then change KF to stored + calculated & delete using master data workbook. Again restore key figure to calculated.
Thanks,
Neeraj
