Hi Jurgen and all others,
In my issue I have cables of different type of material stored in the warehouse. Whenever a client asks for a (e..g.) 10cm cable and the warehouse only stores 200cm per each cable in total (based on the uom in procurement). They cut a piece of 10cm of the total length of 200cm and send it to the client.
Now the problem that we face is when another client asks for 200cm from the same cable, the leftover piece of 190cm and another leftover peace of 10cm will be send to him. Now the client receives the requested 200 cm of cable length, but he wanted it in one piece, not in multiple pieces.
In which process can we cover this issue in EWM? I was thinking of the VAS process, but maybe there are other better options to cover this.
Hope someone can guide/advise me in this.
Best regards,
Onno

it sounds close to quantity classification, you can store "rests" on the special storage type for example, and pick full quantities from another one. Or you can set different sorting for full and partial quantity ( e.g. for full from large to small for small from small to large ).
You can as well use /SCWM/EX_CORE_RMS_DETERMINE to sort quants in the way you need without quantity classification, there you can sort quants first taking the best fit quantities.
