Hi Everyone
I am looking for some guidance on performing a UD on an IOT5 inspection in a decentral EWM landscape.
Inspection document is being created in EWM with Exception Code CRID and Inspection Lot is created in ECC.
I have the EWM Inspection button activated in QA11/QA32 but I think this is only relevant for IOT4.
Should the UD's for IOT5 inspections only be performed in EWM?
Can you help @Caetano @JuergenPitz
Thanks
Michael

Hi,
IOT5 can be set up either to be only QIE relevant, or integrated with your QM system. So how is it setup? So you have an external QM system and an installation assigned to the IOT 5 in customizing? What does the inspection rule in EWM show? Is there a field for an inspection type? It seems so, as you write that there is an inspection lot. So not a real question.
If not, then you have to use the transactions in EWM. But as there is no automatic movement to the QM work center, you have to process it with the TA /SCWM/QIDPR, or you open the document from the warehouse management monitor.
The EWM Inspection button in ERP QM also by default assumes that the material is at a work center, but I do not think that there is a limitation that it is only relevant for IOT 4. So if you use the button and it says that there is nothing to check, it is probably because it is not at the work center. There is a BAdI to control this behaviour.

All the above is no official SAP statement.

Check for EWM courses: https://training.sap.com/trainingpath/Applications-Extended+Warehouse+Management-EWM+in+S4HANA

And it is EWM. NOT eWM - Duh!
And if your question includes the word "transfer order" - do NOT tag the question with Extended Warehouse Management!

Hi @JuergenPitz
Correct, I am using inspection rules to trigger the inspection document creation in EWM and that creates an inspection lot in ECC.
In my product inspection rule for IOT5 I have 1708 inspection type assigned to origin 17.
You are correct that the HU should be in the workcentre for it to be processed using EWM Inspection UI in ECC, as there is no storage process for IOT5 the HU step is not assigned and so the close HU is not required.
I have a requirement to make a UD outside of a WC, i.e. in the storage bin, which I think can only be recorded direct in EWM?
I will investigate the BAdI to see what options this provides, I have seen it is available as an internal action of the follow up.
Thanks
Michael
