I have a product for which I want to manually enter serial numbers in the transaction /SCM/PRDI in the inbound process. The serial number profile says "No serial number requirement". It is not possible for me to enter serial numbers in the Serial Numbers tab in the transaction - what is the reason for this? With another product that has the serial number profile with "Serial Number Requirement on Warehouse Number Level", it works fine.

Let me try to explain why a serial number profile (with serial number requirement) is mandatory for adding serial numbers to deliveries.
If you would manually enter a serial number for a product with a serial number profile set to "no serial number requirement", the EWM system would not know if the serial numbers are to be stored on delivery item level, warehouse level or stock level (see screenshot). Depending on this setting, EWM uses different database tables to store the serial numbers, thus it is mandatory.

The serial number requirement "no serial number requirement", which you are using, is intended for stock that is only serialized in certain warehouse numbers, but not in others.
A manual serial number entry as you describe it would have more the character of a textual appendix to the delivery, so perhaps you want to consider using the "texts" tabs on header or item level in /SCWM/PRDI as a possible alternative.
