Receive by HU - Adjust Delivery line qty - Public Edition - EWM

Hi all,

I believe in 2408 SAP released the functionality for users in the Warehouse Monitor to receive at the HU level. However, if you receive any HU and put the pallet away, you cannot adjust the delivery quantity even though some quantity has not yet been received.

This is an issue as when receiving a container, we want to prevent clogging our dock with a whole container's worth of pallets before we verify the full delivery (or delivery line item). Receiving by HU allows us to verify at the pallet level. We should be able to put away this pallet. If at the back of the container, we realize we were shorted material, we should be able to take this quantity off the last (non-putaway) pallet.

In the below screenshot we can see that the putaway plan is partially completed (not fully putaway). Additionally, the quantity on the delivery line item is locked.

Hello @Markas

Thank you for your question.

Warehouse Management in SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition 2408 Release – What’s New

To summarise, the scenario you explained is designed in public cloud to prevent data inconsistencies between delivery, handling units, and warehouse tasks. That explains why once an inbound delivery item has any handling unit (HU) received and put away, the delivery quantity becomes locked. Attempting to manually edit delivery quantities after partial putaway is not supported in public cloud due to its clean-core framework.

Whilst the system offers you some options, it is best to adhere to the clean core solutions such as:

  1. Adjusting the delivery quantity before the first HU is received or put away.
  2. If you find shortages in delivery quantity after partial putaway has been done, make sure to post quantity differences at HU/task level by using the process inbound deliveries app.
  3. Should you have some late discrepancies, ensure you create a return delivery which references the original PO or perform difference posting.

Please note, once the first WT is confirmed, you will no longer be allowed to adjust quantity.

Let me know if you have further questions.

Best regards

Chris

Thanks Chris, I appreciate the timely response. Your conclusions are correct, however, I believe it is a flaw in the process. SAP should support this scenario as large warehouses must receive at the pallet level. I will submit a Customer Influence Request. Thank you again, Markas.
