Is there a way to modify the standard packing status of SAP in the outbound process of SAP EWM?

Currently, the packing status at the ODO (Outbound Delivery Order) level is updated once picking is completed. However, I would like the system to update the packing status only after the actual packing is completed in the work center.

Is it possible to achieve this through standard configuration, or would it require enhancements?

If after work center you move pallets to staging, you can use staging status. If you need more precise value you can add your own status. In general you can achieve other values of packaging status for example with use of BAdi. Or with use of adjusted quantity profile

Do you know which Badi is to be used to achieve this. The packing status is misleading the users so we need to fix this issue.

I have a similar requirement. The picking HU is changing the packing status on the delivery to 'C - Complete'. How can I avoid this behavior? I only want the delivery packing status to be updated when the packing HU has been assigned.  Can you provide more information regarding the BADI you suggested?

Hi Robin, why you want to do it? If it is about reporting ( e.g. in /SCWM/MON ) you can add own field to show required status. You can as well implement Z* Status to show if it is Packed after Work Center. Changing of the standard status could lead to some side effects.
