Question on deallocated orders in PPDS

Dear All,

We have a situation where after sequencing the orders based on date and time some of the orders are getting deallocated at the end of period and in some cased the orders are getting De-allocated at the beginning of period.

Now my question is that in which situation or condition the De-allocated orders are taking place at the beginning and End of the period ?

I would appreciate if somebody can explain the complete process of De-allocation including above scenario .

Hi Debasis,

If in the strategy settings of the heuristic the "Action in Case of Scheduling Error" is Deallocate, the activities which could not be scheduled may be deallocated.

We are running scheduling heuristic interactively in dashboard with the following setting :

Scheduling Mode : Find slot

Planning Direction: Forward

The Action in case of Scheduling error : "Sched. Infinitely and if Necessary Break Pegging Relationship."

We are trying to sequence the orders week by week. The issue is that system put the De-allocated orders at the beginning of the period in some case and in some cases the De-allocated orders are taking place at the end of period and we do not know why the system is behaving in this way.

Can you tell us which scheduling heuristic are you using? For Ex, De-allocation of operations can occur when there is a firmed operation in an order and the scheduling heuristic tries to reschedule the remaining operations but it cannot move them due to some relationships between these operations. In situations like this, deallocation occurs.

What are the strategy parameters for dependent objects in the heuristics? Are you considering time relationships?
