Question for EWM (on S4HANA) SAP template security roles in Obsolete status

We are going to create the new EWM system customizing security roles by referring to the system template roles /SCWM/ following the master guide, but noticed all /SCWM/ roles are in Obsolete status while not inactive status. Should we still be able to use these "Obsolete" template roles to create our new customizing roles?
